SEO, Spending Trends Among Users for Search Engine Marketing

Today's search engines are competing more than ever. However, Search Engine giant-Google still crushes it competition drawing upon far more search users, requests and ad revenues than all of it's rivals put together.

That is still big dollars.

In 2007, $8.6 billion went towards search engine advertising. When you do the math, the wimpy 16% stake equals the equivalent of $1.4 billion. And with the spending on search engine advertising nearly doubling to almost $16.6 billion by 2011, a small slice of the pie still represents substantial revenue.

It is estimated that Google cashed in 75% of US paid search advertising for 2007, which is up more than 60% from 2006. Yahoo, holding strong in th number two position, paled in comparison at 9% share, while all others split 16% of the pie.

The competition is fierce, but Google still dominates the market, drawing far more search users, requests and ad revenues than all its rivals put together.
